The white, chilly snowflakes change the environment and turn it into a spectacle of white landscape. Plus, the family gets to enjoy and engage in snow ball fights and also in the building of a snowman. Well, you may not be able to do all that using this White Santa Snow Spray, but you certainly can create your own lovely snow scene with it.

Particularly if you live in a region which it rarely snows, you will find it perfect for recreating the magic of snow. This hydroxyl group has a strong polarity due to the fact that oxygen is electronegative. This strong polarity is similar to that of water thereby making water chemically attracted to the glass. So, in order to make glass hydrophobic, you need to reduce its polarity.

This is where a windshield water repellent comes in. These products are non-polar. A lot of these products are made using PDMS. PDMS is a polymer made up of silicon, oxygen, and carbon-containing methyl groups. These carbon-containing methyl groups are what make the product non-polar.

For a simpler explanation, it does so because it is similar to oil. The second most common chemical structure in water repellents is fluoroalkylsilane or FAS. This is made with a long chain of carbon and fluorine atoms and similarly to PDMS, it is non-polar. Causing glass to become hydrophobic and repel water. When water hits untreated glass, the polar attraction causes it to flatten out and stick to the glass.

When you treat this same glass with a hydrophobic polymer, then the glass becomes hydrophobic and begins to repel the water. This causes that same water droplet to ball up into a tight sphere. This reduces the surface area of the water touching the glass, causing it to easily roll-off. The surface area of the water touching the glass is also known as the contact angle. This is why you will often hear people say that these windshield water repellents will increase the surface angle of the water that sits on your glass.

Knowing the contact angle will tell you how easily the water will slide off of the glass. A higher contact angle means better water shedding. PDMS polymers like Rain-X have a higher water-shedding ability but they are not able to chemically bond with the glass. These stencils are self cling so no need to use tape or hold in place. Then just spray them with snow spray and remove each stencil, one at a time to reveal your winter wonderland. You can then rinse them clean and repeat throughout the rest of your house.

These stencils really do add a lovely touch to your house throughout Christmas. You can even leave them up throughout the rest of winter, just scrape off the Santa in the sky when the time is right for you.
