Spysweeper anti virus

Pros: i use this software all the time its pretty much been running in my pc since it came out i install it on all my costumer pc's and they have yet to complain. Cons: Lots of headaches at a low price. System resource hog. Slows boot time significantly.

Slows Internet Explorer. Overall Review: Don't update program on the disc or problems only get worse. I updated to version 6 when it became available. My expiration dates were corrupted by the update, and after a month, a message said my "subscription has expired. When that came, it included a firewall. Now, one computer runs an endless series of pop ups telling me it has denied access to an endless series of web sites I never visit.

Support advised me to uninstall and reinstall -- with the same result. They then gave me a link to a clean-up tool. I just pulled the stuff from all three and used to clean-up tool to be sure it was gone.

Pros: I downloaded the online version of SpySweeper to attempt to remove some nasty programs off my computer. I attempted to use other free utilities online, and was unable to fix my computer permanently. After installing and running SpySweeper my computer was completely cleaned and I have been both virus and spware free ever since. Big plus was that it doesn't seem to take up the system resources that McAfee and Norton do, so my computer doesn't get all bogged down.

Cons: None. Subscription cost? If a program doesn't have a subscription cost, it probably isn't worth your time. You don't have to wait until your subscription has run out to get the new version. Cons: Sometimes when the notifications in the lower right-hand corner of your screen pop-up when the virus definitions files are updated it interferes with your typing and you have to wait until the pop-up goes away to resume typing.

Pros: This is about the best program that I have tried. It finds absolutely all Virus and spyware. It also has an excellent firewall that blocks incoming connections and such. I have tried all of them out there, and I continue to use this one year after year.

It is low on resources as well. Pros: Decent antivirus and antispyware, when using with Win. XP on one of my secondary computers and had no problems. Cons: I switched to Windows 7 and had problems. Upon the install of the Webroot product, it wanted to stall several times. Once I finally got it installed, Found the antivirus is disabled and will not enable. It will not auto update and manually updating takes several tries.

Spy Sweeper's interface remains crisp and intuitive, the result of many hours of user-interface testing. For example, we like that during a scan, the color-coded tabs on the scan page mark your progress: Sweeping, Quarantine, and Summary.
