Wd media player not working properly
The Codecs were identical. Known issue, from Old conversations here already had given indications. Other problem is that the latest firmware does not plays some. In old conversations there are also instructions on how to do that. Hope you can resolve. At least then you can know the library has been refreshed. Sorry if all this is irrelevant in your case. I am using WD portable disk drive plugged into the usb port to access my MP4 files… I have pretty much given up on finding a fix.
So far it always recogives and plays the m4v file. I then add a jpg file with the same name, that contains the movie album art. That way it displays the art in the Video App. Sorry to hear that. The folk in this community are not easily beaten. My own WDTV media library never accurately reflected what I have on my non network hard drive until a few days ago. It was a bit of a weird one, how I fixed it. Step 2: Type msdt. Click Next to run the Troubleshooter.
Here is the tutorial:. Step 1: Type cmd in the Search bar and then right-click Command Prompt to choose Run as administrator. Step 2: Type the following commands one by one in the window, and press Enter after each command:. Step 3: Exit Command Prompt and restart your computer. Here is a quick guide:. Step 1: Open the Run box, type services. Follow the instructions below to do that:. I had immense problems trying to use the 2 Terabyte Passport Drives.
I was frequently told nothing was attached to the USB port. I tried both of them. I am quite an experimenter and after a long session I would always get each and every passport drive to work. But then I had no clue as to why. I now know the answer. I put lots of data on the Passport Drives using my Windows 10 computer.
I remember reading in the instructions that one should always get Windows to Formally release the drive and tell you it is OK to disconnect. I do believe that the WD-TV makes a big deal of this and perhaps there is a flag somewhere.
If I do not disconnect properly the WD-TV absolutely will not read the drive and tells me it is not connected. About half the time Windows will release the drive and tell me it is safe to disconnect. If not I pull the plug anyway. BUT - I then plug it back in and tell Windows again to release the drive. The second time Windows always does release the drive and tells me it is safe to disconnect.
