No Yes. I'm looking at a Mooney M20C with a pretty dated panel, but it's airworthy and could be a great opportunity to build some retrac time. There seems to be a convoluted process to keep it up to date. I don't know if the present owner has the cable or the proprietary card reader.
In my club we have a C with a GNS that has a fairly straightforward update process. I'm hoping the KLN89b is pretty similar if I get the card reader. I certainly don't want to take the entire GPS out of the aircraft and load it into a docking station every month. Thanks Guys. I've contacted the manufacturer and they said that there is an approved cable, only sold by avionics shops, that will connect an old fashioned serial port to the data port on the panel.
Maybe I'll have to downgrade to Win7. I asked if there was a published end-of-service date for the unit and they stated that there was not.
I also asked if there was a guarantee of future database availability for any period into the future and she said that there was no guarantee, but no plans that she knew of to phase the unit out. Sign up to join this community.

Because there were some archetectural changes I could not just update. My avionics shop had to pull the unit and make a physical change before it would accept the current updates.
I have a subscription there are several options and update it without any problems now. I also had to install the separate annunciator panel and a new KI to make my unit approach certified. September I am in the same situation. It has the annunciator but it is in the wrong spot on the panel. At least the would be there if I were in a position to install a W later on. Are the 's less expensive than the ? Hi Tmyers. The GIA and labor is a bit on the high side.
The annunciator must be in the primary pilot's scan. Installing it anywhere else was a real screw-up by the previous installer. I'm surprised that you have the annunciator and no indicator installed. Do you have an HSI in the Arrow? Bob, Sent a picture of the panel for more clarity, but not sure that it worked. Let me know. Hi Tmyers, No picture. Feel free to contact me directly rhart avionix.
What else do I need to upload from my computer to the unit and am I allowed to do that. If you could please explain the procedure for updating the unit.
